Progress on my guitar - The first quarter of the guitar has been bound using gaffers tape. This brown tape is made from fabric opposed to vinyl or plastics. It's strong and not as tacky, so it doesn't pull wood off when you lift the tape from the guitar.
The following pictures are random repairs that come in on a daily basis.
This is a Takamine with a broken X-brace just below the bridge. I injected glue with a hypodermic needle, then used 2 long C-clamps to bring back the cracked brace to its original position.
Here is a soprano uke with top and side separation. I cleaned out the old glue with sandpaper and palate knife. Re-glued with a clamp and 2 blocks.
Re-gluing one of the fan braces on a classical guitar.
Resetting the neck on a violin. The tape is used for alignment.
These are some of the patients that came to visit our shop in the last couple of weeks.
