Sylvan Music is located in Santa Cruz, California, a sunny surf-town one-hour south of San Francisco – in the same neck of the woods as some of the world's most famous acoustic instrument crafters. We specialize in high-quality instruments, both electric and acoustic, that were designed to give the player a tool for musical expression, and a lifetime of fulfillment. The instruments we offer stand headstocks above the competition, both in quality and in price performance. We have taken years of cumulative experience and searched all corners of the globe to find the luthiers (master instrument builders) making outstanding instruments. We have been proudly offering these fine musical instruments, as well as musical equipment and accessories to customers across the globe since 1984.

We are the exclusive area dealers for world renowned Santa Cruz Guitar Company instruments, as well as James Goodall, George Lowden, Taylor, Larrivee, National ResoPhonic, Duesenberg, Nash, Gretsch, Weber Mandolins, Dusty Strings, Cervantes, Seagull, Norman, Godin, and many more. We have 2 vintage rooms filled with relics that hold the secret sounds of the music past. Sylvan also rents a wide variety of stringed, orchestral, and woodwind instruments for students and adults alike.
